The route conditions are updated, but there was little new to report.
As far as we are aware, there was only one winter ascent of Mount Rainier in the 2005/2006. That was Hannah Carrigan's solo climb of the Nisqually Icecliff. There have been winters when no one has summitted, but not recently.
As it stands now, there is quite a bit of winter snowpack on the ground, particularly between 3000 and 8000 feet. Climbers are also showing a lot of preseason interest in Liberty Ridge.
With all the snow, we're hoping for a good spring ski/board/tour season.
